Toddifer's 2021 Recap

I love the beginning of the year, for me (Jenn) it's a chance to reflect on the previous year, while looking to the next year. 2021 was full of so many milestones and vision board moments that have been in the making for a long time. It also had both opportunities and challenges.... I wanted to share a few milestones to wrap up the year before we focus on everything 2022 will bring!

#1 VISION BOARD MOMENT!!! In January Todd and I bought our first house on the water!! Todd and I have always wanted a house on the water and 4 days into 2021 we made an appointment with our amazing Realtor Emma Pardo (who I highly recommend for any real estate needs in the Tampa/ St Pete/ Clearwater area!) She got us a showing and helped us put in an offer and close in 18 days! Truly started off 2021 with a bang all while planning our wedding!!

#2 My sweet Maya suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in February - I still miss her everyday. I am SO grateful for the memories we have together.

# 3 - ANOTHER VISION BOARD MOMENT - we got married on May 2, 2021! I watched and have always admired my parents and how they found their person and built a life they loved together- this is something I have always wanted to have and married Todd has hands down been the best decision I have made - can not wait for our future together.

#4 Sold my house in Orlando in May - after owning my house on Shady Lane for almost 10 years, living there, hosting the back apartment as an Airbnb and then renting it for a few years - it was time to sell. My brother was our realtor and we could not have been happier with the outcome!

#5 Sold Todd's House in St Pete- after fulling renovating the kitchen, flooring and cleaning up the landscaping we listed our house in St Pete after less than 2 years of living there. Emma Pardo again gave us guidance, staged the house, listed, hosting open houses all while we were on a boat in Croatia for our honeymoon. We closed $20K above asking without any issues!

#6 Out of all of the milestones this year- this one is the one I am most proud of myself. I made the decision to leave a good job at a huge company that I have been very comfortable at for the last few years. I decided to leave so I can pursue and build something of my own by opening my own company. I put in my notice at my full time job with IRONMAN as Volunteer Program Director and I spent the last few months of 2021 helping with the transition.

#7 Growing up I watched my Dad support our family and build his business as an entrepreneur. After my time in the corporate world I definitely appreciate my own entrepreneurial spirit more and am excited for the opportunity to grown and learn as a business owner. In the late part of 2021 started a new company J & T Event Services, LLC is open for business- event management, consulting and equipment rental. Excited to share more soon!

# 8 I watched my youngest brother Jay get married to the most perfect girl and it was the best weekend ever! Jovann has been family since we met her and it was amazing to celebrate her officially being a Nisbett! After a two year engagement the most perfect day October 16, 2021 came and everything was as stunning as the bride!

TO review, some of my goals in 2021 were...

- Read at least 10 pages a day (at least 12 for the year)

I read 10 books, and have like 3 half read that I started and haven't finished yet! My goal was 12 books but I am super proud of myself for 10!

- Drink more water

I did a pretty good job with this one, was more intentional about drinking more water - I haven't been drinking coffee for almost 2 years now - however.... fizz sticks definitely have been a contributing factor to me drinking more water!!!

- Make time for doing things that are important

-Waking up earlier to start my morning routine - the first 6 months of the year I did really well with this. After reading Miracle Morning this became important to me and realizing the impact it made on the rest of my day!

- Consistent movement

Playing soccer, going on walks and getting outside was something else I focused on in 2021 - I did a pretty good job - I realized I do enjoy just being outside for a walk!

- Make my bed!

Again, after reading Miracle Morning this was added to my morning routine and I only missed a handful of days!

2021 set the bar pretty high for 2022 - I can not wait for what 2022 will bring! I will share some of my 2022 goals soon!
